What's FC Barcelona biggest ever win of all time, titles, and Ballon D'ors?

FC Barcelona is one of the most successful clubs in the world.

The Catalans' juicy history is packed with memorable victories, including the clashes that have helped clinch five Champions League trophies, cementing their legacy as truly dominant.

What is Barcelona's biggest ever win in history?

FC Barcelona's biggest win came some decades ago. I bet the majority of Culers weren't available then to experience this historical drama.

In 1901, the Blaugranes visited Tarragona in the Copa Macaya and smashed the home team 18-0.

The match was the Catalan provincial championship and FC Barcelona's principle competition before the national league was established in 1929.

But guess what? The humiliating scoreline wasn't even the talk of the competition, but FC Barcelona losing the title to Hispania despite netting 51 goals in just eight games. That's emphatic!

But an even more magnificent result was in 1992, when Johan Cruyff's Dream Team dwarfed that scoreline by smashing a Dutch club named Smilde by 20-1.

Although it was a friendly match, so it does not count in the official record books. But it's always soothing everytime a Culer stumbles upon this archive.

It will also interest you to know that FC Barcelona, also known as Barcelona or Barca, was founded in 1899 by a group of Swiss, Catalan, German, and English footballers led by Joan Gamper.

What is Barcelona's biggest ever home win in history?

Culers have twice enjoyed watching the boys at home crush their opponent by a scoreline of 10-1.

The first was in 1949 in a La Liga match against Gimnastic, and the second was in the last 16 Copa Generalissimo clash between FC Barcelona and Basconia in 1962.

What is Barcelona's biggest ever European win in history?

Barca have twice humiliated their opponent by a margin of eight goals in European competition.

The first time was in 1982, when Apollon Limassol was made a scapegoat. The Blaugranes whipped the Cyprus side by 8-0 in the first round of the European Cup Winners' Cup.

The second came in 2003. FC Barcelona crushed Slovakia's FK Puchov by the same scoreline in the UEFA Cup. These are the club's biggest European victories in history.

What is Barcelona's biggest ever Champions League win in history?

The Scottish side, Celtic, is the victim of Barcelona's biggest win in the Champions League.

In 2016, Barcelona thrashed Celtic by 7-0 in the group stage of the competition. It was a cheerful delight!

How many Ballon D'ors does Barcelona have?

Barcelona players have won a record number of Ballon d'Or’ awards (12). Let's go from the first:

The record began with Luis Suárez (1960), followed by Johan Cruyff (1973 and 1974), Hristo Stoichkov (1994), Rivaldo (1999),

Ronaldinho (2005) and Leo Messi (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, and 2019).

The Argentinian, also known as the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time), holds the record with the most Ballon D'ors (8). He won five while in FC Barcelona. One in PSG in 2021 and another in 2023.

There are also female winners in Alexia Putellas (2021 and 2022) and now Aitana Bonmatí. Making FC Barcelona the club with the most Ballon D'ors.

How many Ballon D'Or has La Masia Academy produced?

Players that have come out of the club's own youth system have amassed an impressive 11 Ballon d'Ors over the years. Eight of those were thanks to Leo Messi, while Putellas and Aitana accounted for the others.

How many trophies does FC Barcelona have?

Very few clubs anywhere in the world have won so many titles. The club's greatest pride and joy remain the five European Cup titles won in Wembley (1992, 2011), Paris (2006), Rome (2009), Berlin (2015), and the FIFA Club World Cup (2009, 2011, and 2015).
