Eight Barcelona players included in Spain’s pre-list for Euro 2024

Eight FC Barcelona players have made it onto Spain’s preliminary Euro 2024 list of 57, but not all are expected to make the final cut of 26 players.

Manager Luis de la Fuente submitted the list, including Pau Cubarsí, Iñigo Martínez, Alejandro Balde, Fermín López, Pedri, Gavi, Lamine Yamal, and Ferrán Torres to the Spanish federation.

Balde and Gavi might miss out due to injuries, with their inclusion likely serving more as a gesture. Cubarsí and Yamal are likely picks, barring any major injuries. Pedri, though recently recovered, is expected to make the cut, albeit with some uncertainty.

Torres' recent form puts him on shaky ground, but the expanded squad size benefits his chances. Fermín, though uncapped, is rumored to have the manager's favor, yet competition in Spain's midfield could hinder his inclusion unless circumstances change.

Martínez seems unlikely to feature in the final squad.
