Goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen reaches 400 appearance in barca shirt

FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen sets a new boundary for himself after his appearance against RCD Mallorca in the 1-0 victory at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Friday night.

The German goalkeeper, often nicknamed the Berlin Wall because of his reflexes and ball control abilities, reached the landmark number of 400 appearances in a Barça shirt.

It was a glorious outing for Stegen! Setting a new club record in the blaugrana shirt and, as well, pocketing the maximum point at stake on the same night.

Not forgetting his brilliant save in the 38th minute to deny a header from Mallorca player Manu Morlanes and the 45th minute parry to deny Vedat Mariqi.

Speaking to the club's official media, the Mönchengladbach-born player said:

"I'm proud to have represented the shirt for so long. I always try to give my best for the badge and enjoy being out there on the field."

When did Stegen join Barcelona?

Marc-Andre ter Stegen has since established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in world football.

The German national team shot-stopper left Borussia Monchengladbach to join FC Barcelona for €12 million in 2014, replacing the Chilean shot-stopper, Claudio Bravo.

Since then, he has enjoyed so much success under different managers of the club, including the much-respected Luis Enrique.

How many trophies has Stegen won in Barcelona?

Ter Stegen, in his first season (2014–2015), helped the team win their second ever treble (UEFA Champions, La Liga, and Copa Del Rey), including the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in the same season.

Culers will forever be grateful for his spectacular "goal-line" save against Bayern Munich in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final. That save earned him the "Best Save" award on the gala night.

So far, Marc-Andre ter Stegen has won a total of 15 major trophies as a Barcelona goalkeeper:

5 La Liga titles. 5 Copa del Rey. 2 Supercopa de España. 1 UEFA Champions League. 1 UEFA Super Cup. 1 FIFA Club World Cup.
