Paris Saint-Germain are rumored to be preparing to lure Barça's sensational central midfielder Pablo Gavira, known as Gavi, into the Parc des Princes.
The 19-year-old La Masia youngster is an integral part of the Xavi Hernandez project and was crucial to Barcelona's winning the La Liga trophy last season.
But L’Equipe is reporting that PSG have not given up hope of signing Gavi from Barça, even though they know such a transfer will be very “complicated.”
The report further reckons that the Parisians won't stop "lurking around" while "the player’s entourage and PSG intermediaries” continue keeping tabs.
Gavi, despite being injured, traveled with the Barcelona squad to Paris for the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg, which Barça won 3-2.
The midfielder has been out injured since suffering an ACL tear back in November that saw his season end prematurely. He will return next season to join the Barça squad, and hopefully the transfer report ends as a mere saga.
L’Equipe, however, remains adamant that a deal could be done purely because PSG have previously signed Neymar, Lucas Digne, Ousmane Dembele, Lionel Messi, and several other players from Barcelona in the past.
Will Gavi leave for PSG to follow in the footsteps of his second idol, Marco Verratti, or stay at his childhood club, FC Barcelona, where his biggest idol, Andres Iniesta, completed football? Only time will tell.
