Barcelona’s wonderkid, Lamine Yamal, recently made an appearance on Spanish television, sharing insights on his journey to stardom and his aspirations for the future.
The teenage sensation, who has drawn comparisons to Lionel Messi, expressed his desire to remain at Barcelona throughout his career and etch his name into the club’s history.
“I never want to leave Barça; I want to become a legend of this club,” Yamal revealed during an interview with El Hormiguero.
“Being compared to the greatest footballer of all time is an honor, but I want to carve my own path. Reaching Messi's level is impossible.”
Rather inevitably, Yamal was also asked about his good friend Nico Williams, whose link with a move to FC Barcelona was the trend of 2024 summer transfer window, but the young forward remained at Athletic Club.
When questioned about the possibility of teaming up with Williams at Barcelona, Yamal gave a thoughtful response.
“I would love to play alongside him every week, but right now, he's with Athletic,” Yamal said.
Barcelona is rumored to be considering another attempt to sign Nico Williams next summer. Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal continues to make waves at the club and is well on his way to becoming a legendary figure, despite only turning 17 this past summer.
