Former Barcelona and Brazil defender Dani Alves has emerged victorious in a legal dispute against his ex-wife, Dinora Santana, after a Spanish court ordered the return of €628,000 that was previously seized over child support claims, COPE reports.
Court Clears Alves of Allegations
The case stemmed from accusations by Santana, who claimed that Alves failed to meet his financial responsibilities following their separation in 2011. However, after a thorough review, the Barcelona court ruled that Alves had fully complied with the separation agreement signed in 2012.
"Dani Alves complied with the agreed terms," stated the court in its official decision. "There is no legal reason to withhold the amount."
As part of the ruling, Santana was also ordered to cover the legal costs of the case.
Why Was Dani Alves' Money Frozen?
Spanish TV personality Amor Romeira shared insights on Telecinco's Fiesta, explaining that the €628,000 had been frozen as a precautionary measure during the legal proceedings. "The funds were blocked temporarily while the case was ongoing, but they have now been released," Romeira confirmed.
Ongoing Legal Matters for Alves
While Alves celebrates this legal victory, he is still awaiting the outcome of another case. Spain’s Supreme Court is currently reviewing an appeal from prosecutors following Alves' acquittal in a recent sexual assault trial.
Off the pitch, Dani Alves is preparing for fatherhood with his partner, Joana Sanz, who recently described the experience as “magical.”
